Meet the roving reporters

Roving Reporter Profile : Nathan,

youthcentral roving reporter NathanAt 21, Nathan is on the Youth Advisory Board in Ballarat, a self-proclaimed beer expert at Dan Murphy's and a youthcentral roving reporter. But that's not all - he was a sports teacher when he was 17!

In his second year of studying Professional Writing and Editing, Nathan is pursuing a career as a newspaper journalist. He's also considering losing the pen and paper, slipping into uniform, painting his face and then marching down to join the Australian Defence Forces. Maybe he'll combine the two and become a combat zone reporter.

Nathan aims to expand his audience base through youthcentral, and will use it as an opportunity to share his experiences. This will allow him to help young people understand many issues that can only be known by those who live through them. Although he is young, he thinks of himself as "an old man in a kid's body."

Laughing at the past and working towards a brighter future, Nathan remembes an embarrassing childhood incident when he was eight years old. His older brother convinced him to close his eyes and place his head at the bottom end of a playground slide. His brother then created an unforgettable moment, sliding down and breaking Nathan's nose.

Please don't try this at home.
