Meet the roving reporters

Roving Reporter Profile : Rashid,

youthcentral roving reporter Rashidyouthcentral readers, meet nineteen-year-old Rashid. This new roving reporter from Werribee is studying Multimedia and Professional Writing at Victoria University.

Having been involved with the Youth Victoria community organisation since he was 12, Rashid has a keen eye for youth issues. This spurs his desire to "get across a message" to young people and pass on the knowledge he has attained over his own vast experience.

Serious at times, Rashid is an outgoing jokester who prefers a light-hearted and informative approach to his writing. He reminisces fondly about a time when his older brother boasted about his tree-climbing ability. He laughs at the memory of his brother, 20 metres up in the tree, yelling "look at me!"

Seconds later the branch snapped and his brother took a fall right on top of Rashid. Chuckling quietly, Rashid's youth shines through his older appearance.

A teenager with many widespread cultural backgrounds from various parts of the globe can offer a fresh perspective for his fellow youth. This dictates his hopes to educate others about various cultures, especially in our multicultural environment.
