Roving Reporter Profile : Kiel,
Kiel loves Melbourne, but honestly he'd rather be in Germany, at Oktoberfest, "surrounded by beer and beautiful women." Or, on second thought, he also wouldn't mind being in LA, the rock 'n' roll capital of the world, and the home of Dave Grohl - who he'd stalk - and who, for the record, was better in The Foo Fighters than Nirvana.
Although this conviction might have something to do with the painful memory Kiel has of his 50-year-old mother trying on his Nirvana T-shirt.
If you haven't guessed yet, Kiel's dream as a child was to be a rockstar. He even had a band: Frantic Z. For two years Kiel was living the dream, writing songs, jamming on the guitar with his friend, playing gigs (or A gig - another friend's 18th). But then it all fell apart. His friend found a new band. Kiel was ditched - but no hard feelings (really).
After all, if he can't be a rock star then the next best thing he could think of was journalism, which he loves. Now a journo, starting a new job in Shepparton with the local paper, he not only has the power to ruin bands, but he also gets to review free CDs and go to free gigs. There's nothing better than that.
