Meet the Roving Reporters
Roving Reporter Profile : Kati,
Having left her home in Far North Queensland early on in life, Kati found it hard to find information on living at home and finding support. She can speak from personal experience when it comes to feeling lost when you've moved away from home. This is one of the main reasons she joined youthcentral.
She has studied permaculture at University, but Kati has a passion for community development and youth services. Her other hobbies include playing her Nintendo Wii and watching movies. Her dream dinner party guests include Malcom X, Angela Davis and Nigella Lawson (but only because Nigella can cook).
Fiery, passionate and interested are the three words she thinks sum her up. These reflect her interest in youth services, especially in minority groups such as refugees and homeless young people. Having gone through difficulties finding services when she moved to Melbourne six years ago she knows how important it is to have access to information.
Kati's main focus as a reporter for youthcentral will be addressing the inequalities among youth, not just in Melbourne but all around Australia.
Her bubbly personality makes her a great person to talk to and an equally as interesting person to listen to. She will say or write anything that comes into her head, but as she says, "sometimes that's not the best thing".
