Ministerial Advisory Committee

The Office for Youth is pleased to announce the appointment of the first members of the Ministerial Youth Advisory Committee (MYAC) for the 2009 term.

All of the young people who applied to be a part of MYAC were passionate and articulate about their communities and the issues that concern them. The 15 young people who have been appointed represent the diversity of Victorian young people and will provide valuable advice to the Minister for Youth Affairs.

The MYAC meets four times a year with the Minister for Youth Affairs and at other times between these meetings to work on their own projects as well as other consultations and initiatives like organising the state wide forums and providing advice to the Office for Youth.

Reports to The Minister

So far the MYAC have consulted with the Minister on two issues: alcohol and street violence, and mental health issues for young people. To read their recommendations on these issues, you can download copies of their reports
