Meet the Roving Reporters

Roving Reporter Profile : Anthony G,

Anthony GJumping into puddles with gum boots, playing skip rope with the neighbours' daughter, having staring competitions with Dr.Peppers (neighbours' cat) is far from describing how odd Anthony Gabb is. Best described by his friends as an unusual child stuck in a 20-year-old man's body, it’s hard to see how that is believable by how normal he looks on the outside.

Raised in a pretty normal town of Fairfield, now living in an even more normal suburb, Doreen, it’s hard to imagine how the unusual part sticks. "’I don’t know? I can’t shake it off - it’s who I am. It’s what makes me unique, it’s what makes me my own person," he says.

Although unusual his oddness has helped him develop a rightful imagination for creating children’s picture books as well as complete a Cert. IV in Professional Writing and Editing. Now enrolled at HTA as a chef in training, Anthony prefers to be in places where his odd imagination can be shared.

Unsure of what the future has in store for him or what his plans are, Anthony seems to enjoy letting things play out slowly until he can find the right calling.

"I see life as an onion. We peel away the layers trying to see where our place is, where we belong. At this point I’m still uncertain and, well, I just keep peeling."
