Meet the Roving Reporters
Roving Reporter Profile : Ruth, Arts & music reporter,
Being the Arts and Music Reporter for youthcentral gives me a great excuse to chat to bands, go to heaps of concerts and attend some wonderful events. I'm really pleased to be able to share my experiences with other young people.
I joined my local Wyndham FReeZA group in 2007 and it has provided me with a valuable opportunity to gain experience in the local music industry. FReeZA has taught me how to organise and promote a show, liaise with bands and sponsors, and many other things that I would not normally have the chance to do. The experiences have even allowed some of our FReeZA members to work at higher levels in the music industry.
For me, 2010 is sure to be an exciting year as I complete a Bachelor of Commerce combined with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Majoring in marketing and journalism has kept me busy for the past four years, but it has also fuelled my love of writing and participating in all sorts of interesting events.
Young people have many great ideas and the ambition and energy to see them through! I have found volunteering in groups such as FReeZA to be an excellent way of gaining experience and making networks of contacts that can help you to achieve your goals.
As the Arts and Music Reporter, I'm going to provide plenty of ideas and inspiration for young people to get involved in art and music events.
