Get it Right on Bin Night

Recycling is a simple, practical and effective way to do your bit for the environment. Victorians are great recyclers, but we can all do better. Research shows that heaps of our household rubbish bins often contain items that could have been recycled.

That means 450,000 wheelie bins all across the state, full of recycling, ending up in landfill each week. That's a real shame and a real waste. By making a few simple changes around your home, though, you can help reduce how much of your waste goes to landfill.

The Get it Right on Bin Night website (new window) is a new resource to help you understand how to improve your recycling habits and make a difference from the comfort of your own home.

Get it Right on Bin Night has a list of what you can and can't recycle, a bunch of tips on how to get active about recycling, plus a recycling quiz so you can check how well you're doing. You can also find out what your local council can do to help you recycle.
