youthcentral stars on Neighbours!
Well, sort of.
On 10 August 2010, youthcentral got 12 long seconds of amazing coverage on Neighbours. Our stealth incursion into the world of Ramsey Street featured some juicy shots of the youthcentral logo, text and our subject index. It was very exciting!
You can check out our cameo above.
And just in case a solitary minute of soap doesn't paint the full picture, here's the background for the scene:
Erinsborough High School Principal Michael Williams has been looking for support groups for same-sex attracted young people on his home PC, in response to his discovery that Chris, one of his students, may be same-sex attracted.
Michael marks youthcentral as one of his favourites (as you do), but school gossip Natasha, Michael's daughter, who is also a student at EH, scans her dad's favourites on the home PC and sees youthcentral's same sex attracted pages. Her eyes go all wide and that.
But seriously, it was great to get some national exposure for youthcentral as a resource for young same-sex-attracted people. If you want to check out the page that Principal Williams was looking at (as seen on TV!), then head over to our Same-sex attraction page and read it for yourself.
