Meet the Roving Reporters

The adventures of Alice show that students shouldn’t be afraid to do what they love.

Alice completed an Arts degree in creative writing at the University of Melbourne a few years ago. She went into a retail job after finishing her degree, before seeking inspiration in Europe. Travelling convinced her that she couldn’t spend her life selling clothes to people.

Alice realised that she needed to do something that used her mind more. She has gone back to university and is doing a Masters in Creative Writing, Publishing and Editing. Having already had a chance to do the "creative fun stuff", she is enjoying learning more about the editing side of things.

Alice loves to read, but at the moment her little grammar book is taking precedence over fiction. However, she hasn’t been able to cut out her love for magazines yet. Although she feels "kind of anti-magazine" she still sneakily reads fashion publications.

As a roving reporter, Alice hopes to learn what she can about the industry and put her editing skills into action. She is also excited to see her writing in print.

What else is next for Alice? Making her way into the publishing industry, more traveling, and conquering her garden. An inspiration to Arts students everywhere!
