Webcomic reviews: Part 2
Gone through all the webcomics I reviewed last time? Or just looking for some more to add to the collection? Well here are three more that might grab your attention if you’re looking for a good laugh or just something to do!
Doctor Cat
Comics about a cat… who is also a doctor! Pretty straightforward, really! And probably the most bizarre cat-related comic you’ll ever read, written by a cat-loving girl named Sarah. Doctor Cat is a talented doctor and surgeon, even without thumbs, and with his faithful sidekick Human Nurse, he’s out to cure his patients and put a smile on their face. Of course, being voted "cutest doctor" every year also helps!
Although as time goes on, reality catches up and cats being doctors becomes a little less practical and a little more dangerous to the patients. When a few stuff-ups are made, Lawyer Cat gets involved and Doctor Cat needs to find a new job. What will happen? Will he be able to cope? Being ridiculously cute can only get you so far, after all!
This is a wonderfully cute and funny little comic that's updated every week. It's the kind of comic that not only makes you laugh, but also gives you that warm fuzzy feeling inside every time you see something cute, which makes you get very quickly attached to the fuzzy little hero.
Definitely recommended for everyone.

Penny Arcade
This comic is almost as old as the internet itself, dating all the way back to 1998. It was created by two gamers, Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins. The comic focuses on two best friends, Tycho and Gabe, and their day-to-day lives, including all the videogames they play. Which is a lot.
The comic mostly focuses around up-to-date gaming news with a few little movie references and even some comics based around the authors' families popping up every now and again.
While it might not be for everyone, with a few of the jokes aimed at geekier readers, the writing is always solid and the art has a cartoony charm about it. Whether it's the latest release game or a classic, the two best friends always put a unique and funny spin on the situation, often poking a bit of fun at the companies behind the games.
Such a long-running comic has had a lot of time to really perfect the formula, and you can see that by reading through the years of great content in the archives. They’ve even set up a children’s charity that organises toy drives around the worlds for children in hospital, and have also set up their own gaming convention. It really goes to show where a great sense of humour and a love of geek culture can get you. Penny Arcade updates three times a week.

LOL-Comics
Has a friend ever linked you to that Youtube video "Nyan-Cat"? The one of the cat with a poptart body flying through space while that catchy tune plays? LOL-Comics is the site of the guy who created it, a funny guy named Chris Torres who also happens to create a heap of hilarious comics based around his life.
It includes everything from his encounters with some... "unique" people from his workplace right through to comics dealing with his morbid thoughts and his fear of spiders. The comics are drawn in a very simplistic stick figure style, and the sense of humour is so quirky that it might not appeal to everyone. But those who do find it funny will be hooked, as these real-life situations always have some kind of totally bizarre, over-the-top way of being told, but still manage to be totally believable.
Unlike the other comics in this review, this one has a bit of an all-over-the-place update schedule, so the only real way to know when it’s updated is to follow him on LiveJournal (new window) or twitter (new window). As I said before, his sense of humour might not be for everyone, but if this is your cup of tea, waiting for updates always guarantees a good laugh.
