Meet the Roving Reporters

At the risk of sounding like someone placing a dating ad, my name's Elisa and I've just turned 22. I also have the incredible honour of being youthcentral's Health Reporter for 2011.

Young adults, regardless of what we're told, naively think we're invincible. We indulge in every vice and salve our guilt by saying we're simply trying all of life's experiences. As Health Reporter I hope to knock some sense into my peers' (and my two siblings') rather thick skulls. We're not invincible and the health risks we take now will have telling effects on us when we're older.

In the past, I've delved into every topic imaginable, but this year I'm sticking to health. I'll be giving you the information and advice you need to live a healthy and safe life, without the dirty looks or guilt trips you'd get from parents or teachers.

It might get gritty and it'll probably make you uncomfortable, but it'll be completely unbiased - trust me. I hope you take the advice I'm dishing out on board and try to make changes to your own lives, however small. Fingers crossed that I, and my articles, don't disappoint!
