Swan Hillian turned city slicker, Cate is a coffee addict pursuing the dream of becoming a journalist who admits that her proudest achievement was meeting boy band Hanson (Yes, the band that was responsible for 'Mmm Bop').
At 21, Cate is in her Honours year in Political Science and English Literature at Melbourne University after successfully completing her Bachelor of Arts.
During hours not tied to her studies you can find Cate feeding her coffee addiction working part time at the Deep Dish Cafe at Melbourne Uni or with her head in a book. While daytime TV is also high on Cate's agenda (Oprah is one of her heroes) she also enjoys watching her beloved Geelong play footy, insisting "this is their year."
Despite growing up rurally and her parents still living in the sun-ravished 'Heart of the Murray', the lure of a cadetship with a major Melbourne paper is too great. Cate believes the Melbourne lifestyle is for her.
