Meet the roving reporters

Roving Reporter Profile : Sam,

Roving Reporter, SamSam lives in the regional town of Shepparton. Technically he's lived in nearby Mooroopna for 17 years but found that no one knew where it as and so resorted to saying he lived in Shepparton.

Sam loves life generally but he feels particularly strongly about music and church. Sam's passion for each has led him to becoming strongly involved in a variety of activities in the community.

Sam lives alone with his dog, Celine in the "Horrible end of Shepparton". When he's not working one of his three jobs his house serves as a base for up to 30 hours volunteer work of organising various music and community events or helping bands and musicians gain exposure and opportunities.

Sam's love of music is very general but he particularly enjoys music with strong vocal components. However, when he's playing keyboard or guitar in his band he's really happy when it's Loud, wild and rocking".

The most important people in Sam's life are his friends and the folks at the local Pentecostal church who have always been there for him. For Sam, these are his main inspirations along with local success stories such as Ryan Black who plays regularly as a backing musician for famous acts on Rove.

Sam lists his greatest achievement as being recognised as the 'go-to-man' in his community in youth entertainment evidenced by being asked to organise a show for the Relay For Life, in which 6,000 people will be taking part.

Sam is really passionate about Shepparton and plans to stay there helping young people through music and mentoring.
