Modest Threads - Made in Warrnambool

Modest ThreadsThis podcast is an interview with Ricky Birmingham from the Modest Threads clothing label. Your host for today is Eleanor Orchard.

A few words from Modest Threads guru Ricky B:

"Modest Threads is a lifestyle label that depicts who I am and what I believe in. Do you like punk rock, skating, to party, sega, beards, originality, Melbourne, underground, indie, tattoos, moshing, the green guide, sushi, graffiti, indie flicks, photography, cheap wine, Brazilian beer, Ding Dong, destruction, pirates, the ocean, the rain, stairs to nowhere, the underground lifestyle? Then hey, I think we should be friends.

I've been playing in bands since my early teens, and grew up feeding off the music of Unwritten Law, Silverchair, and Blink182, which has shaped me into who I am today. If I'm not playing drums, I'm usually drawing something, and those drawings and ideas come to life as Modest Threads on shirts, hoodies, and buttons.

Born in Camperdown, raised in Warrnambool, and moving to Melbourne, Modest is a parallel movement that grows as I do. What started small as an idea on a piece of paper has turned into something that runs itself, transcending through the trends and to its credit, making a mark of its own.

Modest is a place for friends, people with common interests and a non pretentious view on life. Modest is all for supporting the local indie scene and bands such as Famous By Association. If you like what you see, then please jump onto myspace.com/modestthreads (new window) and place an order.

Adios Camarada!"
