The Victorian Government wants every young person to have the opportunities and support they need to reach their potential.
Due to a range of circumstances, some young people become disconnected from family, education and community and require more intensive and tailored support to achieve their goals and enhance their life outcomes.
The Victorian Government is investing over $4 million over three years to deliver an exciting new program - Empower Youth - to fund organisations to work with vulnerable young people who are at risk of disengagement to strengthen their health and wellbeing, their connection to community, their engagement in education and training and their pathways to employment.
The development, design and delivery of local Empower Youth programs will directly engage young people to ensure that the program meets their goals and circumstances.
Local government and community organisations, especially in priority locations of Ballarat, Brimbank, Casey, Frankston, Greater Geelong, Greater Dandenong, Hume, LaTrobe, Whittlesea and Wyndham, were encouraged to apply for funding to deliver this exciting new program.
Applications closed on Friday 2 September 2016.
