Government Jobs

Share

Governments employ a lot of people. According to 2010/11 figures, the Victorian State Government employed around 40,000 people, and the Australian Government employed around 160,000 people across the country.

With numbers like that, it makes sense to think about looking for jobs in government.

There's a government job to suit just about anybody. Governments employ teachers, police officers, fire fighters, scientists, social workers, IT technicians, accountants, marketing staff, defence force personnel and officeworkers.

Like other jobs, government jobs are advertised online and in newspapers. Some jobs are advertised widely, while other jobs are only listed on specific websites, so it helps to look in as many places as possible.
