We hear you! Using your feedback to develop a new Victorian Youth Strategy | Youth Central

We are committed to creating a Victoria where all young people are healthy and safe, and empowered to contribute to the issues that affect them. We want every single young person to have equitable access to opportunities and support to participate fully in the social, economic and civic life of our state.

That’s why, when the Victorian Government began development of a new Youth Strategy, we invited young Victorians to join the conversation on the things that matter most to them.

Public consultation on Victoria’s Youth Strategy closed on 21 December 2020. We got feedback from over 1,800 individuals and youth sector organisations about how to make Victoria an even better place for young people to live.

So far, we’ve heard that young people need more support to build financial stability, find meaningful work, and access education and training. You also told us about the importance of embedding youth perspectives into government and making sure safe, accessible support is available to all young people.

The Victorian Youth Strategy will be released later in 2021, you can stay up to date with strategy progress here on Youth Central.
