If you're a trade apprentice you could be eligible to receive a discount on your rego costs.
Under the Victorian Government's Trade apprentice registration discount scheme, eligible apprentices can score 50 per cent discounts on vehicle registration fees and Transport Accident Charges.
To get the discount your employer has to verify that the use of your vehicle is an essential part of your work.
Eligible trades include:
- Bricklayers
- Carpenters
- Joiners
- Electricians
- Plumbers
If you're eligible, you're encouraged to apply for the discount as soon as you get your registration renewal.
