Applications for FReeZA have now closed.

Message from Minister for Youth, the Hon. Natalie Suleyman MP

Since 1997, FReeZA has underscored the Government’s commitment to empowering young people. The program helps young people reach their potential by supporting access to opportunities and career pathways into music and the creative industries.

About the program

FReeZA 2025–2027 offers three-year funding for community organisations, local governments, and social enterprises to deliver safe, youth-friendly events for young Victorians aged 12–25.

You can apply for funding between $45,000 and $120,000 over three years, depending on how many people you expect to attend your events and the event location.

Benefits of FReeZa

FReeZA has been developed in partnership with young people and youth organisations. It gives young people the opportunity to lead the planning, development and delivery of music, cultural and recreational events in their local community. Local musicians and young emerging artists are also given the chance to perform to bigger audiences.

All events are fully supervised, and drug, alcohol and smoke-free. They will also need to reflect the diverse needs and interests of young people in their local area. Applications from First Nations-led and multicultural groups are strongly encouraged.
